About the role: 

We are currently seeking a Mine Geology Superintendent to lead both underground and open pit geology functions on site, delivering safe, efficient, and value-driven orebody knowledge that underpins mine planning, production and reporting. This role provides strategic and technical leadership to the mine geology team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality grade control, robust geological models, and continuous improvement in reconciliation performance across the operation.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Review systems for mining and tracking of material from Mine to Mill with view to collaboratively planning/implementing system upgrades in line with modern best practice.  Areas of particular interest include:
  • OREpro or Augment Technologies
  • Use of GPS guided mining equipment
  • MOP/ROM/Portal Lidar truck scanning
  • Centralised tracking of material (Pitram or equivalents)
• Lead and manage all open pit and underground geological activities to ensure accurate orebody definition and efficient ore extraction.
• Oversee the collection, validation, and interpretation of geological, geotechnical, and geochemical data for mine planning and resource evaluation.
• Maintain and continuously improve 3D geological and grade control models for both surface and underground operations.
• Ensure QA/QC standards are applied to all sampling, logging, and assay processes to guarantee data quality and compliance with JORC and company standards.
• Provide geological input into short, medium, and long-term mine planning to optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution.
• Produce accurate and timely geological reports, production summaries, and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage daily grade control programs to ensure accurate ore delineation, blending, and delivery to the mill in line with production targets.
• Oversee timely geological mark-ups, face mapping, and ore spotting for both open pit and underground headings.
• Conduct regular mine-to-mill reconciliations, analysing variances and implementing improvement strategies for both mining areas.
• Collaborate with processing and metallurgy teams to improve ore tracking and metallurgical performance through better understanding of ore characteristics.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: 

• Tertiary qualification in Geology (Bachelor of Science or equivalent).
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Geologist, with experience in open pit and/or underground mining environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring geologists, including graduate geologists.
• Hold a valid WA C Class manual driver’s licence.
• Strong capability in developing and maintaining 3D geological and resource models using industry-standard software (e.g. Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, Deswik, Micromine).
• Proven ability to analyse production performance and drive improvements to reduce variance between geological models, forecasts, and actual outcomes.
• Experience planning, budgeting, and supervising RC, diamond, and exploration drilling programs, including contractor management.
• Sound understanding of basic geotechnical principles, with the ability to identify and communicate ground control risks to operations.
• Working knowledge of JORC (and/or NI 43-101) codes and resource and reserve reporting requirements.
