About the role: 

Graduate Geologist – Multiple Opportunities (Open Pit & Underground)

Are you a recent Geology graduate ready to take the next step into the mining industry? We're looking for motivated Graduate Geologists to join our site-based geology teams across both open pit and underground operations.

These opportunities are ideal for graduates who are eager to build practical skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and contribute to real mining operations from the outset. If you're ready to start immediately or within a short notice period, we'd love to hear from you.

Reporting to Senior Geologists, you'll receive on-the-job mentoring while gaining exposure to a broad range of geological and mining activities. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical capability, build confidence in the field, and establish a strong foundation for a long-term career in mining.

 

What You'll Be Doing

As a Graduate Geologist, you'll gain valuable experience across production and mine geology activities, including:

  • Supporting daily production and grade control activities, including ore spotting and geological data collection.
  • Assisting with ore stockpile management and reconciliation.
  • Conducting geological mapping, logging and face sampling.
  • Supervising drilling programs and liaising with mining and drilling contractors.
  • Preparing geological reports, maps, plans and presentations while communicating geological information to operational teams.
  • Applying QA/QC procedures and maintaining accurate geological databases and records.
  • Developing an understanding of drill planning, geological interpretation, block modelling and grade estimation.
  • Building practical skills using industry-leading software, including Vulcan, Rockmapper, Deswik, acQuire and Leapfrog.
  • Collaborating closely with geology, mining and surveying teams to support safe and efficient mining operations.
  • Gaining exposure to both open pit and underground environments, depending on your assigned site and role.

 

What We're Looking For

We're looking for enthusiastic graduates who are passionate about geology and excited to build a rewarding career in mining.

You'll bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Geology (or be in your final year and graduating soon).
  • The ability to commence immediately or within a short notice period.
  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within the mining industry.
  • Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A current WA C-Class Manual Driver's Licence.
  • A current National Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Strong communication skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn in a hands-on site environment.
