About the role

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our Underground Mining Operations at the Coolgardie South Operations. This is a key role that will see you focussing on Feasibility studies for new underground mines while providing LOM planning support to the existing operations. Following project approvals, project construction and establishment your role could transition to a leadership role as Alternate Underground Manager.  This role suits a self-driven individual with a strong balanced mix of mining technical, and operations skills set and experience.

This role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, fly in fly out from Perth or drive in drive out from local Goldfield’s region.

 

You will be an active member of the study team with responsibilities including:

  • Full assessment and evaluation of applicable mining methods covering geotechnical, operational, environmental, equipment, productivity levels and economics.
  • Selection of Optimal mining method
  • Detailed Mine Designs and Schedules.
  • Mine Designs to include major mining infrastructure both surface and underground.
  • Work collaboratively with key stake holders (Geotech, Geology, Environment, WHS) for securing Regulatory Approvals.
  • Progress project studies from Feasibility Study through to permitting, construction, recruitment, mobilization and start-up.
  • Assist, when required, in the LOM planning and optimisation of the existing underground operations.
  • Statutory duties of Alternate UG Manager (as per the new WHS Legislation) at the commencement of new underground operation.

 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Mining Engineering Degree.
  • First Class Mine Manager (Non-coal) certificate
  •  A minimum of 7 years’ experience in underground mining (LOM planning and operations) with a minimum of 3 years at a Senior level.
  • Experience in narrow to wide orebody underground hard rock mining.
  • Experience in Underground mining project Feasibility Studies and LOM planning.
  • Operational knowledge of WHS (mining) new legislation.
  • Experience in leading operations and technical teams
  • Proficiency in the use of Deswik mining software (Design and Scheduling).
  • Proficiency in the use of Ventsim Modelling.
  • Proficiency in use of MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
